We went to the sea side three times (in November, March and May). Mostly to Ha Long bay (included by UNESCO in the list "World Heritage") and once in the central part of the country.
Ha Long bay is very beautiful. There are over 4000 islands and islettes about its area. They are rocky or simply rocks. Some of them have caves.
The country itself has over 3000 km of seashore. So you can choose where to stay easily!
The water is warm and almost hot. Paradise for divers.
It it great to have a bottle of cold beer for $1 with freshly-fried squid under the parasol just on the shore!!!
